In this mock draft scenario, the Las Vegas Raiders trade up from No. 6 to secure the first overall pick from the Tennessee Titans, with their sights set on Miami quarterback Cam Ward. The Raiders, who currently have Geno Smith as a short-term solution, are willing to pay a premium to land their quarterback of the future.
Tom Brady's Raiders understand that a top quarterback is everything, so they're willing to offer what it takes to jump over the Giants. They have Geno Smith plugged in for at least part of 2025, but they know he's only a short-term solution.

Miami QB Cam Ward 'solidifying' case to be Titans' pick at No. 1 overall
At his Monday pro day, Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward made a strong impression on the Tennessee Titans' brass, who had a heavy presence at the workout. The Titans, holding the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, sent their top executives and coaches to evaluate Ward's performance.
'His tape is excellent, he's a really good player,' Callahan said of Ward. 'Here, it just kind of confirms it. You get to see the ball come off his hands, and you get to see his footwork, see his body, see how the ball travels. Those are all things you like to see in person.'

In his first mock draft of 2025, NFL.com's Eric Edholm projects Cam Ward to be selected third overall by the New York Giants. While the top two teams in the draft order also need quarterbacks, Edholm believes they'll opt for the best player available approach.
I still need more time to percolate on whether Ward could be the Year 1 savior, à la Jayden Daniels, but the Giants probably feel compelled to pull the trigger here if they don't go the veteran-QB route.
